Magic Pie, Norwegian proggers who had immediate success, with their self released debut album “Motions Of Desire”, has signed to the Swedish label Progress Records.

The album was sold out very fast even though the sound quality was not top notch, so to make it even better the Progress version will be re-mastered and come with an enhanced booklet. The band, who by the way are booked for next years Rites Of Spring Festival, has a sound that appeals strongly to all fans of early Flower Kings or Spock’s Beard with their timeless progressive rock which is highly melodic but also quite complex at times. Add a pinch of the energy and attitude from mid 70′s Deep Purple and you have a quite accurate description of how they sound. “Motions of desire” will be out on July 18, and they can be heard on stage at the progressive rock festival Slottskogen Goes Progressive in Gothenburg on August 13.

Magic Pie, banda progresiva noruega que tuvo una buena acogida con su disco autoproducido “Motions Of Desire”, firmó para el sello sueco Progress Records.

El álbum se vendió rápidamente aún y cuando la calidad de sonido no era tan alta, de manera que para hacer aún mejor la versión Progress, será re-masterizada y vendrá con un “booklet” mejorado. La banda, que por cierto se presentará en el Rites Of Spring Festival (Festival Ritos de Primavera) el próximo año, maneja un sonido que atrae fuertemente a seguidores de los Flower King´s en sus inicios, así como de Spock´s Beard, con un rock progresivo atemporal altamente melódico y en ocasiones complejo. Agreguen una pizca de la actitud de Deep Purple de mediados de los 70´s y tienen una descripción muy cercana de cómo suena la banda. “Motions Of Desire” saldrá a la venta el 18 de Julio. La banda se presentará en el festival de rock progresivo Slottskogen Goes Progressive en Gothenburg el 13 de Agosto.
